Oakton lecture on Sept. 22 examines ISIS terror threat in Middle East

Des Plaines, Ill. (Aug. 14, 2017) – Join Robert Pape, Ph.D., one of the world’s leading researchers on terrorism, as he explains the impact of the ISIS terror organization on the Middle East. His free lecture “What’s Next after ISIS?” will take place on Friday, Sept. 22, at 11 a.m., at the college’s Skokie campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave. The event is sponsored by the Oakton Community College’s Emeritus program, which offers high quality programming for adults 55 and older, and the Oakton Educational Foundation.
A professor of political science at the University of Chicago, Pape is an author, commentator and founder of the Chicago Project on Security and Threats. He has written dozens of publications including “Dying to Win: The Strategic Logic of Suicide Terrorism” and “Cutting the Fuse: The Explosion of Global Suicide Terrorism and How to Stop it.” His commentary on international security policy has appeared in noted media outlets such as the “New York Times,” “Washington Post,” “Boston Globe” and “Los Angeles Times.”
