Village of Winnetka Spring Clean Up

Winnetka’s Annual Spring Clean-up will be held May 9 - 12.  Scheduled pickups are:

Monday, May 9: north of Tower Road
Tuesday, May 10: Tower Road to Pine Street
Wednesday, May 11: Pine Street to Willow Road
Thursday, May 12: south of Willow Road

The main purpose of this yearly spring rubbish pickup is to reduce fire hazards in the home.  Public Works employees will remove from the parkway anything that two men can reasonably lift into a truck.  Electronics, tires, yard waste, dirt, stone, construction materials/debris, logs, and liquids such as paint will not be picked up.  Items should be placed on residential parkways the evening before the scheduled pickup, or by 7:00 A.M. the day of the pickup, in order to minimize littering problems. There will be no call-backs if the material is not on the parkway by the scheduled time. Trucks may be collecting items ahead of schedule however they will go back on your scheduled day for pickup.

This is an excellent opportunity to clean out your attic, basement, and garage especially of combustible materials thereby making a significant contribution to community fire safety.  Residents are encouraged to recycle items such as cardboard boxes, Styrofoam and plastic bags before putting them out for Clean-Up week.   If you have any questions, please call the Public Works Department at 847-716-3568 Monday through Friday, 8:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
