Northfield Township Marks 175 Years of Service and Unveils New Food Pantry

Glenview, IL — Northfield Township is proud to announce its 175th Anniversary Celebration and the Official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony of the new Northfield Township Food Pantry. The celebration will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at 2550 Waukegan Road, Glenview, and is open to the public. A formal ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 4:15 PM.

The event celebrates the Township’s legacy of service since its establishment in 1850, while also showcasing the completion of its Food Pantry expansion — a vital resource that helps provide food and support to more than 1,100 households across our community. Guests are invited to tour the upgraded space, enjoy light refreshments, and learn about the many services the Township provides.

The Township is also proud to celebrate the successful completion of the Northfield Township Food Pantry’s Growing for Good capital campaign, which met its $1.5 million fundraising goal. This historic achievement made it possible to expand and modernize the Food Pantry’s facilities, transforming the space into a more accessible, efficient, and welcoming environment for our residents. The upgraded Pantry now features ground-level access, wider aisles, increased storage, a walk-in freezer, and a dedicated volunteer workspace.
